Thanks to the generosity of my bro’ Woody at thewoodman.org, I’ve got this space to show some
work I particularly like by artists who are friends of mine. This won’t be limited to any particular
style or type of glass; it may be hot glass, warm glass, stained glass or neon. Any photos I put up
here are copyrighted, and remain the property of the artist who created the work. And since
this is the work of people I know and respect, I can recommend them without qualification. If you see something here that appeals to you, please contact the artist directly.
I hope to add to these pages as I get more photos, but I’ll start with Kim VanArsdell. I’ve always
liked Kim’s stained glass, as her attention to design, detail and craftsmanship are first-rate. In
addition to what I’d call traditional stained glass, she also does some fine modern designs such
as the glass she did for the Frankfort public library (not shown here). Kim’s currently been doing
some “layered” pieces that, rather than using the traditional method of “plating” one layer of glass
on top of another, use multiple glass panels set in a common frame to give the piece more
dimension. I hope to get some photos of these soon.
